I have been self employed for over two decades, wearing multiple hats over the years. Five years ago I entered into a business venture with my oldest daughter, which we temporarily paused to start our new journey and expand here in Athabasca County. As an active member of my old community, coordinating events and assisting in conflict resolutions, I am eager to be a part of this community, and happy to be a member of the board.

As a fresh face to Athabasca, I’m excited to be part of this vibrant community! I’m the co-owner of Mystic Ridge Creations and Homestead and work full-time as a web technician, bringing experience in websites, e-commerce, and technology. I’m passionate about building connections, bringing people and businesses together, and creating opportunities for engagement and growth—because communities are always stronger together

As a resident of the community since 2004, I am excited to join the Athabasca Chamber of Commerce for my first year. I am the owner of Vault Body Studio which was founded in Athabasca in 2018, where I work as a full time Professional Body Piercer. My passion for body adornment is matched by my love for our community! I frequently volunteer and donate to local organizations because I appreciate and understand the importance of giving back and connecting with the community. I believe in the power of collaboration to strengthen our community, I look forward to working with fellow board members to promote growth and inclusivity in Athabasca.

Mike Borody currently works at Logo Me This in Athabasca.
I moved to Athabasca in 2010 and reside on a small farm in the Forfar area. I love the outdoors and Athabasca provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy. I have 30+ years on business and construction. I own my own contracting company so I have experience in the field as well as the boardroom. I’ve served on several boards and committees in the past, and believe I can bring a different perspective to an already diverse and talented board.
